The means to attain closeness to Allah rest upon three pillars:
1. Following the Prophet, both in word and deed.
Allah, the Exalted, says: “If you love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins.” (3:31)
2. Adhering to the remembrance (Dhikr) with the proper authorization from those who have attained spiritual completion.
Allah, the Exalted, says: “And be patient with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure.” (18:28)
3. Keeping the company of those who possess true knowledge of Allah.
Allah, the Exalted, says: “And follow the path of those who turn to Me.” (31:15)
When the seeker contemplates these truths, their longing to join the ranks of this path deepens.
